Description
**EeBria Exclusive** Gyle 717 is a very special beer for First Chop. We have made just 1000 litres of this 8.5% Barley Wine into which we have chucked 75kg of blackcurrants. The backbone is the excellent floor malted Maris Otter from Warminster. Then a hefty dose of whole leaf Ekuanot, Summit and Bramling Cross hops. And we've finished it by ageing on French oak.
Not only is this the final beer brewed on the original brewery we started brewing on in 2013 but somewhere in this batch is the 2,000,000th pint of First Chop beer.
Those original brewery vessels have been on quite a journey with us. They burned down once and have since been restored and stretched to almost double their original size and moved from one side of Salford to the other. The day after we brewed Gyle 717 we loaded them onto a truck and waved goodbye as they set off to start a new life brewing beer up in Scotland.
Most of Gyle 717 is destined for bottle conditioning and will be available later this year but for now, there are just a few kegs available - get it while you can!!!
