Four years ago armed with a home brew kit and a passion to brew a great ale, the Penton Park Brewery began it's life. A mission to serve great beer on the Penton Park bar, having decided that he was selling to his guests just wasn't good enough turned rapidly into an obsession and a full-time job (and Guy Rolfe is not complaining!). Over four years Guy taught himself to home brew, culminating in achieving a world recognised brewing qualification at Brew Labs, Sunderland in 2018.
Set in the historical Georgian Kitchen of Penton Park, The Penton Park Brewery has, over the last three years, restored this 298 year old room and now brewing is at the very heart of Penton Park. The water that we used for these exceptional beers comes from the water course situated directly under the brewery. Each brew is hand crafted by Guy, and named with a strongly personal meaning.
Having launched to the public in January 2019 the Penton Park Brewery now supplies 27 local pubs and is rapidly expanding with plans to move to a larger premises in 2020 to keep up with demand..
