We love a winery that knows how to tell a story, so it’s little wonder that we’re drawn to Alcardet, which describes wine as “the protagonist of a history, a culture and a symbol of identity”. Founded in 1972, by seven entrepreneurial farmers looking to take on the international market, Bodegas Alcardet has always sought to create a new wine tradition reflecting its own personality. It quickly earned a reputation for modern, complex wines, and is today considered a pioneer in ecological production and viniculture.
Around 600 farmers across La Mancha work year-round with a winery team of around 25, including a vineyard technician and two winemakers, to get the best results from each harvest. Great believers in the old maxim that ‘the wines are made in the vineyards’, Alcardet begins from the ground, where field technicians work hard every day to enhance the qualities and characteristics of each variety, in challenging soil and extreme climate.
