Released in 1975 by Italian singer-songwriter Francesco De Gregori, Quattro Cani tells the story of four “war dogs” — cane-di-guerra — that, far from being as fierce and wild, were humble strays just trying to navigate the streets in times of war. The song resonated with Canediguerra’s co-founder Diego Bocchio who, in 2015, was travelling the world and felt a little lost in life. It also reminded him of his friend and long-time drinking buddy, Alessio Gatti, who possessed a quiet strength and determination to one day open a brewery of his own.
The song took on new meaning when the friends were joined by two others, also interested in brewing beer, finally comprising the “quattro cani” needed to open Canediguerra in 2018. Ever since the brewery has been producing refined, high quality versions of classic styles, and flexing creativity in seasonal and collaboration brews.
