Our founding principle was to develop a sustainable use for our hillside smallholding of 8 acres to incorporate our passion for wildlife, gardening, farming and conservation.

We began making fruit wines on our smallholding in the stunning conservation village of Luddenden in 2001. Over the last thirteen years we have planted a large variety of fruit and other produce and sourced numerous wild hedgerow berries and blossoms.

These have been tried and tested to produce a shortlist of delicious limited edition wines and fruit liqueurs made using traditional recipes and techniques. We do not use fruit concentrates.

Much of the produce such as strawberries, apples, blackcurrants, gooseberries, cherries and parsnips are grown on our south west facing slopes in the heart of the village.

Using a combination of pressing and cold infusion techniques we extract juices and flavours for our fermentations.

We employ a holistic approach to our activities. Fruit trees and soft fruit bushes share the same orchards. Chickens roam our orchards providing fertilizer and pest control, while rare breed, free range pigs root up the land in advance of new plantings. Spent fruit is also fed back to the pigs once it has been pressed in our wine making process.
