Night Rider

Our launch lineup wouldn't be complete without a dark beer on the menu. We wanted to brew a nice roast, dark beer and decided on a style that we love, the Robust Porter and so Night Rider was born. It was important to us to try and stay true style for this beer and let the malt do the talking. We used a very robust malt bill to add all the dark character we were after for this beer and a clean yeast strain coupled with a small post boil hop addition of UK hops to let the malt shine through. This is a very dark beer with great body, nice roast malt nose and a dark tan creamy head. All the flavour, aroma and body you would expect from a true Robust Porter. We used minimal hops in this beer, in fact we only used a whirlpool addition of English hops to remain as true to style as we could, UK Cascade and Jester. It was important that this beer highlighted the malt bill and we didn't want to confuse that by adding big aroma hops. We will definitely be doing some more experimental versions in the future but for now its just a straight up Robust Porter.
