Northern Switch (Blackjack Brewery collab)

NORTHERN HEMISPHERE HOPED PALE ALE 5.5%

Our turn for the (proper) Northern version of this two-handed collab with Manchester's Blackjack Brewery. The premise is a simple one - starting with the same mash bill, both breweries then diverged using ingredients based on a North-South divide:

- OG Boddingtons Liquid Yeast (Blackjack) vs Saturated Yeast (Campervan)
- Southern Hermisphere Hops (Nelson, Pacific Jade, Enigma Leaf) vs Northern Hemisphere Hops (Idaho 7 Cryo, Citra BBC)
- Cask (Blackhack) vs Keg (Campervan)

Blackjack's version was a superb, well-rounded tropical cask ale, and ours follows suit (you're welcome) with a fascinating beer that is rampant with incredibly ripe pineapple and passionfruit, with a surprising dankness and touch of bitterness anchoring it all. It's a fabulous beer for the 2 weeks of Scottish sunshine we're about to experience!
