Description

An oyster stout is an historic thing, and the reasons for its existence are pretty well hidden in the depths of time. What we do know is that in the 19th century when porter was the Londoner's drink of choice and oysters were guzzled on street corners - somehow, somewhere, someone put the two together, and the oyster stout was born. Sometimes so-called as an accompianment to oyster, our oyster stout is both made with and perfect served with oysters. Made in collaboration with The Oystermen who bring us their choice of Maldon oysters for the beer, the beer is rich and on the dry side, with notes of minerality and saline from the oysters.
