Description
Theres a couple of neat history lessons in this beer. For a start, it is hopped with Cluster, the earliest US hop variety, which also found its way into some British beers in the years before World War I. Secondly, it is based on the kind of lagers produced by the many small US breweries that were active before Prohibition (though many never came back afterwards). Thats enough lessons though, beer schools out and it is time to pour a beer. Straw-gold in colour, it has a subtle nose of sweet grainy malt and slight grapefruit, while each swig (oh yes this is definitely a beer for swigging) reveals a clean and refreshing thirst-quenching combination of gentle citrus notes, a subtle bitterness and a finish that embraces dryness as it was a long-lost love. Treat yourself to several pints of history and make sure you do your homework.
