Pear Sour

Description

Cloudy, like a glass of pear juice with a fluffy pure-white head. This fresh, clean Berliner Weisse offers aromas of freshly-baked bread dough and lemon zest, with a delicate, yet distinct earthy & floral fragrances from the pear puree. The Kölsch yeast compliments this with light esters of pear-drop & green apple and there is a subtle touch of woody-spice from the Perle hops.

The lactic sourness perfectly cuts through the luscious, pillow-soft, sweet body of flaked barley, oats, and wheat. This sweet/sour contrast provides the balance in the beer, with little-to-no bitterness from the aroma hops, and low carbonation. The floral graininess of the Williams pear puree lends a beautifully restrained buttery sweetness to finish.
