Description

Helles - Refined German hops lightly resting on a fluffy pillow of British pale malt. Yes, we know we're supposed to use pilsner malt, but taste testing didn't reveal any significant preference. So there you go. Anyway, about those hops this is not a hop-forward beer: Light hay-like and floral-spicy perfumes from Hallertauer Mittlefruh & Northern Brewer lead in before sweet malt rolls on. There's enough of a cleansing bitterness to leave you wanting more. This is one of the few beers in which we use a lager yeast, and while we've deployed all our best sciencey tricks, it still takes much longer to make than our regular beers. Worth the wait.
