Description
Our gin is not made in the traditional way, mixing many ingredients in a large metal container and heating them all together. Instead, it is made by precisely distilling the few selected botanicals separately in small batches to ensure maximum extraction of flavour and aroma. The resulting distillates are then blended until taste and nose confirm that the combination is correct. Botanicals Juniper - Grains of paradise - Orange - Cinnamon - Bay laurel. And a blend of fresh aroma and flavour hops specially selected by our close friends at Buxton Brewery. Serving It should be tasted just as it is from something the size of Buxton Distillery glass, maybe with a splash of water or a few chips of ice to open up the flavour and aroma. If you prefer it with tonic then put it in that small glass again, ideally a generous double measure, no ice and no more than two parts of good tonic - were not brand-particular, just dont water it down too much. Add a slice of lemon to bring through the orange notes. Or a slice of orange accentuates the cinnamon. The richness and higher ABV of Buxton Dry Gin makes a marked difference to a cocktail. The Negroni has more depth of flavour and the Dry Martini has a spiced, savoury and saline character, especially when a good Manzanilla sherry is used instead of the usual white vermouth.
